The clop of hooves traveling hastily across pavement was drowned out by the sounds of nightlife, where the few youth that dared to brave the eternal winter winds gossiped among one another and took long drags from their cigarettes as they loitered outside one Lucky Horseshoe night club. Snow sprinkled out from Aziel's wavy hair and onto the shoulders of his tuxedo, soaking into the material before he could brush it free. He grumbled under his breath, ensuring not a soul would hear the vulgar words rolling across his tongue and out his mouth and nose in visible hot puffs. The trail he followed grew colder by the moment, so he hastened his trot towards the Horseshoe, gloved fingers flexing with anxiety. His master was going to kill him.

If the low, dirty beats pulsing from the club didn't first. It made his ears throb the closer he got.

But there she was, without a doubt in that golden blouse and skin tight mini skirt that showed more thigh than Aziel cared to see. She was only sixteen. What was she thinking? The instructions were clear: no parties, no going out, no flirting with the dishwasher boy. And still the young master Strathos chose to neglect her father's orders and slip out to the nightclub. Again.

Penelope was going to get a stern talking to after this. But first, to make sure something horrific didn't happen.

Aziel hurried to the door, where a firm, calloused hand made contact with his chest and pushed him back.

" Hold it, bub. Don't care if you're in a tux, yer not cuttin' this line. 'N you like fourteen, n'yhow."

"Sir, I'm with young master Penelope Strathos. She just went in." Aziel gave a desperate arm wave towards the golden silhouette being absorbed into a crowd of dancers who took a different pose every time the strobe light flashed back on.

The bouncer was unconvinced. How many people a night claimed to be part of the Strathos household? Dozens, presumably. They were notoriously wealthy (and corrupted) folk. Jumping into a jumping club was certainly not out of the question. Nor was purchasing it immediately afterward. "Papers?"

Aziel fumbled around his jacket pocket with desperation, able to retrieve a Staff identification card after several vital seconds were wasted in the search.

A few more gone as the bulky minotaur shined his flashlight over the card and squinted at the print. "Aziel?"

"Yes, sir."

The minotaur grunted and rolled his eyes. "Fine, go on in. But next time ya better go with 'er. If not you wait the queue like erry'one else. Capiche?"

Aziel snatched his card back and nodded, trotting in.

The club was much larger than it looked from the outside, with a dj mounted above the general mass adjusting his tech to make the bass go wild. Behind him a large screen flashing various neon colors depicted blobs that traveled to the ceiling and floor, like a two-dimensional lava lamp that might cause epilepsy. A walkway trailed the perimeter on the second floor, with folks loitering about the railings, drinks in hands.

Almost immediately Aziel found himself surrounded by sweaty bodies hopping up and down, arms flailing. It made him nauseous. The atmosphere was absolutely chaotic--nothing like the tidy, quiet bunker he spent most of his free time. Even when Master Strathos held parties, they were nothing like this. They were reigned in; controlled, with soft music and the occasional clinking of glass or silverware as the guests retrieved another helping of champagne or an hors d'oeuvre.

His head began to spin. He held his breathe and concentrated on sorting her out from the pack, eyes scanning every face and body for a match, but to no avail. It wasn't long before the poor satyr became so overwhelmed that he couldn't take it. A high table with two black stool caught his eye, and he stumbled over, wiping sweat from his brow and matted hair. It was amazing nobody had impaled themselves on one of his horns yet, honestly.

With shaky fingers he grabbed for the granite edge, pulling himself to relative safety. The seat was something of a struggle to climb onto, especially with hooves for feet, but with some effort he managed, exhaling finally and pressing his head to the cool table surface. A tiny groan escaped him, lost in the music and cheers. His watch said it was only 1am, but it felt so much later, like he hadn't slept for days.

What a horrendously long night this was already turning out to be.

||||||||A pair of hips dominated the sidewalk, swaying left to right in their signature Little Black DressⓇ for everyone to pay attention to. Any eyes that managed to tear themselves higher than that would be taken aback by the snake draped across Tessa's shoulders as they walked the night nonchalantly. The Nymph was back home at last, and the coven was out for the weekend; a recipe for disaster. Or a night on the town. Or both! After all, the witching hour was only just upon the snowy city of Krycek. The night was so young and there were so many virgins to sacrifice, whether it be to the negligent gods above or to Tessa's libido. They were left with one question, after all this: what should we do tonight?

||||||||The crowd in front of the Lucky Horshoe was particularly large tonight. The DJ tonight must be a popular guest, or perhaps they brought back their special Ale Of Destiny. Tessa personally thought the name was cheesy, but... regardless of the reason, a large crowd was a good reason to display dominance. The Nymph strutted slowly into the club, giving the bouncer a casually dismissive gesture. "Say hello to Grecio, Fleder." They lifted the snake up to the bouncer, who smiled awkwardly in acknowledgement. Tessa had established their place here. No introduction was needed: no one was fond of their introductions. They had a tendency to be... explosive.

||||||||The club was excited, carrying the smell of body heat and alcohol strongly up to the entrance, perhaps only blocked by the similarly overpowering scent of the streets outside. The lights fluctuated from neon blue to green, giving the dance floor a cool atmosphere that belied its chaotic movements. A man perched in his musical nest slammed on a midi keyboard that could barely be heard over the four-on-the-floor that dictated the motions of the patrons. Tessa relished in the chaos. Their eyes scanned every detail of the deceivingly expansive room, drinking in every detail as they sauntered towards the bar.

||||||||One teeny tiny detail was set apart from the rest of the room. A young boy with his head on the table- to clarify, of course, this isn't the unusual part- had the horns belying a creature from Vida. He appeared to be exhausted; and what a shame, when it was so early in the evening. Tessa made her way there, sliding her hands onto the boy's shoulders and starting to massage them. "Why hello there. Are you lost, sir?" they spoke calmly, almost directly into the Satyr's ear.

It started at his ears, racing down his neck and spine, the chill of someone within alarmingly close proximity murmuring a question towards him. It took Aziel by surprise, and he let out a startled bleat as his hooves left the ground to catch some flailing air time. Times like these made the boy feel blessed to remain completely unrelated to feinting goats.

He covered his mouth with gloved hands and spun his head to face the sudden company, neck straining in the attempt. "U-uhm... No, ma'am... Just. Looking for someone." Was it really okay to say who it was? If this woman had hostile intentions, young master Strathos might be in trouble.

Suddenly his eyes fell to the snake in hand, and all the hair on Aziel's body stood on end. Out of impulse Aziel jerked back, butt sliding off the stool and finding a new seat on the ground as a layer of dirt and filth drew up around him, though nobody outside of perhaps Tessa seemed to notice.

How absolutely atrocious this community was; for the life of him Aziel couldn't understand why anyone would willingly subject themselves to such a rough environment. The feet of nearby dancers felt inches away from Aziel's vulnerable fallen body, and the moment he realized this fact, he scrambled back to his hooves, patting the dust off of his tuxedo.

Still, the young woman Aziel required was nowhere to be found, but the other youth stood before him, likely expecting a sort of explanation for his being there. It didn't take a rocket science to figure out that Aziel was out of his zone, afterall.

A sigh escaped his parted lips, and he finally relented to explaining the situation. "It's my duty to ensure the safety of my Master's child. That child has... escaped." The words were coated with obvious embarrassment, and Aziel found himself unable to make eye contact.

Failure was absolutely not an option. And nor was asking for help, though the notion crossed his mind. Aziel made a problem, and it would be Aziel who fixed it; that was his [s]ninja way[/s] creed.
