Fort Musworth, 120 miles west of Roa, Maquina

Sir, we've locked coordinates. We are ready to deploy at your command."

"Excellent. Send everyone we've got."

"Sir, yes sir!" The soldier's boots click together as he salutes, posture rigid. He turns on his quarter and marches off with haste, his steps to be heard fading through red tinted corridor.

There's an eerie heaviness felt through the atmosphere from the rest of the troops as their commander sucks a breath through parted lips, inhaling the last puff of a vintage cigar and squints behind tinted lenses with golden brimming. A pause, ring tapping against the commanders, his desk. With a quiet mutter, exhausted tone coated in bitterness and resign, he speaks, "By the Gods, this had better f*cking work." He rubs one temple and slouches back into his chair, beret sliding to cascade a dark shadow over his eyes.

Across the Maquinian Map, at sistering bases, leaders are deploying spare drones and military personal towards the heart of the desert, where they're tracking a strange meteor that's set to impact in less than six hours.

---

Meanwhile, in half a dozen major cities celebration is coming to a halt, as tourists and locals alike stare up at a blue streak that cuts the sky in half. It rockets towards the ground past eyespan, to be lost.

Some self-proclaiming prophets take this to be an omen of death and tragedy to come; a sign of the next world war. Extremists and patriots relish the very idea.

Others believe it might be a message from Aethel herself, a valuable artifact, or a sign of life beyond their own cosmos. Every night for the last week of the festival people look to the sky and pray for opportunity to find such a mysterious loot, the likes of which have never been seen before.

In Vida, where the meteor can also be seen slicing through the starry void, adventurers are plotting their incredibly dangerous voyages to Maquina, as the more conservative fortify village defenses for war.

In truth, nobody is quite sure of what this blue object will mean for the world's future, but it's sure to stir up change, for better or for worse.

JAY, WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON?

I'll tell you what! A blue fire meteor just blazed across the sky, crash landing in the Maquinian desert--more specifically, the Oil Rig Graveyard. Nobody's entirely sure what this is, whether just dinky old rock or Aethel's lost flipflop, but plenty across the globe want to get their hands on it! Including the Maquinian military, who seem to show special interest. Guns, tanks, and choppers are on their way to the abandoned refinery to retrieve the meteor right now. Race to the finish! Pack your bags and ship off to the desert for a life-altering adventure, and don't get caught!
