FORUM RULES

Post by Aziel on Mon Apr 06, 2015 12:54 am

Rules:

1. Treat other members with respect. Do not start arguments in chat or on the chat box. If you have a problem with another member, private message them and work it out, or alert a staff member. If the staff member is at fault, PM an Admin or other staff member at once! Do not use any derogatory, or hurtful names to refer to other members. Every kind of person is welcome here, regardless of gender, sexuality, religion, ethnicity, etc. We do not tolerate closed mindedness! Any hateful preaching will result in a warning.

2. At the bottom of this post is a guide of warnings and equivalent punishment. Depending on the severity of the offense, these may be bypassed in favor of member safety.

3. We strive for literacy and writing improvement here. At minimum, each role play post should be 150 words. To get your character approved, you must have at least ten coherent rp posts reaching our word minimum! RP areas with higher or lower word minimums will have signs posted that express so.

4. No advertising of other forums. The only exception is if somebody asks you for a forum's link, which you may PM them. This rule is in place mostly so that we don't get a whole bunch of spammers throwing ads around. ;v;

5. No spamming. In the forums, this means no triple posting, with the exception of your thread(s) in the media center or club leader posts in threads. Administrators & moderators are exempt from the double posting topic when on the job (such as publishing site updates or making additions to the rules.)

6. Do not provide personal information such as your last name, home phone number, or address on the site. You also are not required to provide any personal information that you do not feel comfortable in giving. If somebody asks, and you don't wish to share, simply tell them no. If you are to be badgered by said member about it, let a staff member know and they'll help you out!

7. No sexual or graphic content above the standard PG-13 rating. If your role play contains self-harm, murder, or other triggering situations, please put a warning at the top of the post AND in the rp title! (To put a warning in your thread title, simply write [TW] and then spoilered at the top of your rp is what the warning is for.) That being said, posts are not to contain any form of sex whatsoever, even in the form of flashbacks. That's a big no and will result in the deletion of your thread and a warning. Perhaps some day this will be accepted, but at present forumotion does not allow for any sort of explicitly sexual content on their forums. I repeat, this is not our rule, but a rule of forummotion. It could potentially get Polemos deleted! :C

8. Do not use anybody else's character but your own. Plagiarism of existing characters from television shows, movies, or stories will not be tolerated. Likewise we will not tolerate tracing or stealing art from another, whether they be member or not. This is grounds for a warning! You may make a character like a television or movie character, but they must have several distinct differences in physical appearance and history at the very minimum.

9. To role play on the forums, you must have a character. When creating a character, use the provided template. We don't mind if you add more to the template or pretty it up with coding and pictures. Just be sure that all of the required fields are included.

10. We expect courtesy and kindness to your fellow members both on and off site! If we've found that anyone has been harassed or bullied by another member of this forum, whether it be on tumblr, twitter, or the like, that is grounds for punishment.

11. Do not badger the mods to approve your characters/skills/etc. in the chatbox! It may take a few days for a character to be reviewed. If over five days have passed without feedback from a moderator on your form, you may private message one about it, by all means. But we don't want to cloud the chat box with constant requests.

12. We permit cursing & foul language. However, try to use it sparingly and in good taste--especially in the chat box. Not every sentence needs the f-bomb, y'know?

13. We don't tolerate ninja accounting. Ninja accounting is when you make an account and keep your identity a secret from the rest of the members. This has been known to cause some behavioral problems (akin to people harassing other members anonymously.) Moderators can see member IP addresses, and if we believe you to be ninja accounting it is grounds for a warning. To avoid this, stick a consistent nickname in each of your account's profiles.

14. NEW RULE:  As soon as possible, please add a link to your character in their signature! It can be through picture, or just a symbol, whatever floats your boat. Just allow members a quick and easy way to check out the character you're writing with.

Punishment System
First offense = Verbal warning
Second offense = Official warning
Third Offense = Chatbox ban for 1 week & official warning
Fourth offense = Permanent chatbox ban, 1 week site suspension & official warning
Fifth offense = Site ban for 1 year
Sixth offense= Permanent site ban

**REMEMBER** All rules are subject to change at any moment. It is recommended that every few months you come back and take a look at the rules again to ensure that you are up to date! Saying "I didn't read the change!" won't fly as an excuse. ;C

Now that you've read the rules, it's time to read this.
