Polemos Races Empty Polemos Races

Lavathor and Aethel each created species native to Vida or Maquina only, but throughout time the species have crossed to the other land, whether for travel, as prisoners, or traitors. It's important to recognize that you're going to find more of Vida's native species in Vida, but it isn't unheard of to find them in Maquina or Valias, and vice versa, by any means. Likewise, the physical descriptions are guidelines and not absolute. When making a character please use discretion, but don't feel as if specific eye or hair colors are boxing you in; they're just commonalities.

Vida's wilderness bred the first  nymphs, elves, satyrs, and goblins. Lavathor was also responsible for anthropomorphic creatures. Maquina's cities bred the first minotaurs, dwarves, and giants. Aethel was also responsible for cybernetic creatures. Both of these lands had humans, as well.

Native Land: Vida
Highest Stat(s): Magic or Dexterity
Characteristics: Skin color can be natural human skin tone, or the colors of leaves: green, red, orange, etc. Any hair color. Any eye color. Max height: 6 feet. physically humanoid.

Elf

Native Land: Vida
Highest Stat(s): Agility or Dexterity
Characteristics: Large, pointed ears. Natural hair colors + silver. Any eye color. Height max: 8 feet. Physically humanoid.
History: Easily as intelligent as the humans, Elves were vital in the fight against Aethel. They played the parts of captains, leaders and special forces that utilized stealth and surprise to take out enemy troops. Those that stayed in Vida worked closely with the Nymphs to help keep the communities organized and ensure all civilians were provided for.

Satyr

Native Land: Vida
Highest Stat(s): Magic or Agility
Characteristics: Natural hair & fur color. Pointed ears & horns (horn height max. 10 inches.) Max height: 6 feet. Goat legs & back hooves, goat tail.
History: Satyrs served as Vida's scouts during the war with quick wit and even quicker footing. Though not the highest quality of a fighter, they didn't have to be to scamper quickly across the battlegrounds and deliver messages or supplies. When not directly involved in war, the Satyrs helped to fortify traps and defenses around their communities to ensnare enemies headed their way.

Goblin

Native Land: Vida
Highest Stat(s): Defense or Critical
Characteristics: Skin colors include brown, green, white (albino,) gold, grey, black, and dark red. No pastel colors. Eye whites are anywhere between white and yellow, eye color can be any. Some goblins have hair, some don't. Pointed ears, razor teeth with large incisors, pointy noses. Otherwise physically humanoid. Max. height: 5 feet.
History: Vida's brute strength and common foot soldier, the Goblins were a fearless, loyal species that took their posts seriously and provided results. Not the easiest to get along with if you weren't a fellow goblin, but they matched Minotaurs in their aggression and fury. The Goblins frequently used a blitzkrieg offensive, attacking quickly with high numbers to end the battle before it could begin. Paired with Elven command, these troops were deadly and terrifying.

About half of Aethel's force were made of of Minotaurs, while the rest stayed behind and worked closely with the Dwarves to keep factories running.

Anthropomorph

Native Land: Vida
Highest Stat(s): Any
Characteristics: Up to 40% of the body can be your choice of animal. Otherwise physically human.
History: Anthros are the result of Lavathor's most ancient relic: an underground lake, hundreds of feet below one of his temples. When the moon is full, the water's magical properties take hold of any human in contact with it and imbue these people with traits of a single animal they resonate with. It's suggested that this was a way to get humans to side with Lavathor, as it doesn't work on any other species. The new anthro follows of Lavathor played a Vital part in the war against Maquina, going toe to toe with Aethel's genetically modified super soldier humans.

Cyborg

Native Land: Maquina
Highest Stat(s): Any
Characteristics: Up to 40% of the body can be machine. Otherwise physically human.
History: Cyborgs are humans that have been outfitted with mech and wiring to increase their strength or make up for a physical flaw the human had. Most of the first cyborgs were veterans of the war, whose injured bodies were brought to one of Aethel's original laboratories, where they underwent delicate surgery to replace lost limbs and armor themselves. Often, the price of a soldier's new body was to return to the battlefield for another tour.

Human

Native Land: Maquina & Vida
Highest Stat(s): Any
Characteristics: Physically humanoid for obvious reasons. Natural skin, hair, and eye colors. Max height: 7 feet.
History: The only race that Cranios brought to Polemos, humans scale across the board in their traits and talents. They're an incredibly bright and adaptable species that has fared surprisingly well in a world where many of the primary races are physically stronger than they are. During the war, humans were evenly split among both sides, while many wanted nothing to do with the fighting and fled to Valias in a desperate attempt to escape.
