Plant Name: Deras Silk
Location: Exclusively in the Iron Canyon
Effects/Uses: Deras silk is extraordinarily strong, as it needs to be to survive in the niches of the canyon walls. It spreads out over the rocks, and poorer members of society often take the risk of scaling the canyon in order to pluck the plant which when refined can be used for a multitude of reasons. For fortified clothing, to be refined for use in building materials and a number of other industrial purposes. Usually it must be chiseled from the surrounding stone, and then refined before it is useful.
Description: Deras silk grows in long fibrous white strands that spreads out like a weed across rock and stone. It is a very hardy plant that has deep roots. At first glance it can look a lot like webbing, but it is much stronger than a spiders web. It does not flower, but does grow very rapidly. When left uncontrolled it can work its roots through nearly any material even metal, and can destroy entire domiciles.
